Community rules and moderation
The member forum is not open yet. These rules apply from the day it opens, so you can read them first.
How it works
- Every topic and every reply is read by a moderator before anyone else can see it.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. We keep your email only to run your sign-in. It is never shown with your posts.
- Posts are peer discussion. They are not legal advice, and they are not checked against official sources. Always confirm with the official source or your mission.
What is not allowed
- Offers of guaranteed visas, jobs or outcomes, or requests for payment, fees or deposits.
- Phone numbers, messaging-app handles, email addresses and other contact details, yours or anyone else's.
- Passport, ID, bank or other personal document numbers, and any details that identify a private person.
- Recruiter or agent advertising, links to unverified agencies, and anything that looks like a scam.
- Harassment, hate, threats, or generalisations about a nationality, religion or group.
Reporting and review
- Signed-in members can report any published topic or reply, with a short reason. You can then see the status of your own reports: received, being reviewed, or reviewed with or without action. Moderators' notes stay private.
- Moderators can publish or remove a post. A removal always has a reason, and the author sees that reason (and a note, if the moderator wrote one for the author). Every moderator decision is recorded with who made it and when, and only moderators can read that record.
- You can withdraw your own topic or reply any time before a moderator acts on it. After that it cannot be withdrawn here; use the report or contact page.
- You can mute an author (their posts collapse for you) or block an author (their posts are hidden from you). Only you can see your list, the author is never named or told, and muting or blocking never stops a report from reaching a moderator.
- You can ask to be emailed about new replies to a topic. This is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. Email sending is not connected yet, so no message is sent until it is.
- There is no separate appeal process yet. It will be defined before the forum opens. To ask about a removal, contact us.
Your data
- What is stored: your sign-in email (held by the sign-in service), a private member identifier, and what you write. Reports store the reason you give and their status. Your muted and blocked list and your notification choices are stored against your private identifier and are not shown to anyone else.
- What you write may be public once a moderator publishes it. Do not post sensitive personal details, including about your immigration or health situation.
- We have not set a retention period for posts or accounts, or a time limit for answering deletion requests; both will be stated here before the forum opens. You can ask us to delete your posts and your account through the contact page. Self-service deletion and export are not built yet.
- See the privacy page for how the site handles data in general.
