Is your agent real?
Most people who lose money to overseas job fraud do not lose it at the embassy. They lose it to someone in their own town who seemed trustworthy. Answer 7 questions about what your agent has actually asked of you, and you will get a straight read before you pay anyone anything.
Nothing is sent to us and nothing is saved. If you have already paid, this is still worth doing โ it tells you what to ask for, and where to report it.
Have they asked you to pay money to get the job offer?
Any fee for the offer, the contract, the demand letter or the employer's approval counts, whatever it is called.
Did the offer arrive without any interview or test of your skill?
A video call where nobody asked you anything technical counts as no interview.
Have they asked for cash, cryptocurrency, or a transfer to a personal account?
A personal account is one in a human being's name rather than the company's.
Have they told you the visa is guaranteed, or certain, or already arranged?
Have they suggested you travel on a visit or tourist visa and change it after you arrive?
Have they refused, or avoided, giving you the employer's name and address?
A company name with no address, or a name you cannot find anywhere, counts as refused.
Are they pressing you to decide or pay within a day or two?
Phrases like last seat, quota closing tonight, or the employer will take someone else all count.

Do this next
Check the agency's licence number on your country's official register, named below. It takes two minutes and it is the one check that does not depend on anyone's word.
Your answers stay on your phone. Nothing on this page is sent to us, saved, or shared, and we do not know who you are or who you are dealing with. This is a read on a pattern, not a verdict on a person or a company โ only the official register below can tell you whether an agency is licensed.
Check the agency on the official register
Most sending countries keep a public register of licensed recruiters. Asking for the licence number and checking it takes two minutes, and it is the one check that does not depend on anybody's word. Pick the country you are applying from.
Ministry of External Affairs
Registration as a Recruiting Agent
Ask them for this
Ask for the Recruiting Agent registration number and the registered company name, then check both on the Ministry's own eMigrate portal.
What the law adds here
The service charge a registered agent may lawfully take is capped by law. It is a hard limit, not a guideline, and anything above it is unlawful however it is described.
We name the authority rather than linking to it on purpose. A wrong or out-of-date link on this page would send someone who is already being pressured to a lookalike site. Search for the authority by the name above, or ask at its office directly.
If you have already paid
You are not the first and it is not your fault. Two things still help. Write down everything while you remember it: names, dates, amounts, account numbers, screenshots of every message. Then report it to the authority named above for your country โ a licence is pulled because people report, and a report also creates the record you will need if you try to recover money.
Do not pay a second agent to recover what the first one took. Being defrauded once makes you a target for the people who sell recovery.
We will never ask you for money
LetsFlyAbroad is free, we do not place workers, and we do not pass your details to anyone who does. If someone contacts you claiming to represent this site and asks for payment, they are not us.
