Professionals: AEWV with an accredited employer, and Green List Tier 1 roles can go straight to residence

Professionals normally enter on an Accredited Employer Work Visa, with a full-time job offer from an accredited employer. Roles in Green List Tier 1 can apply for the Straight to Residence Visa on a qualifying offer, but each role carries its own qualification, registration or pay rule, and some overseas qualifications need an NZQA assessment; which roles are on the current list was not confirmed. Skilled Migrant Category residence is also available with a skilled job, but fees start at NZD 6,450 and the AEWV does not allow a partner or children on the same visa. The only Green List role list we could read is an archived March 2025 Operations Manual edition, not confirmed current, so no role is claimed as listed or unlisted today: check the live Immigration New Zealand Green List page.

The routes

Each route below is a separate permit with its own listed requirements. A requirement you do not meet can stop an application for that route, however strong the rest of the case is. A requirement we cannot confirm is shown as unknown, not as a failure.
