Routes to New Zealand: skilled tradesperson
Trades: a route exists, but only through an accredited employer; few trades are on the Green List residence fast track
Trades workers usually come on an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), which ties you to one employer, one job and one location, and does not let you bring a partner or children on it. Green List Tier 2 (Work to Residence) is the residence route for listed roles; the only role list we could read is an archived Operations Manual edition effective 26 March 2025, which is NOT confirmed as current, so we do not say which trades are or are not on today's list. Check the live Immigration New Zealand Green List roles page. The AEWV wage threshold that applies today was NOT VERIFIED from a current page, so check the job offer against Immigration New Zealand's current pay-rate pages.

The routes
Each route below is a separate permit with its own listed requirements. A requirement you do not meet can stop an application for that route, however strong the rest of the case is. A requirement we cannot confirm is shown as unknown, not as a failure.
